Highlights Fly

FLY

“The Fly was designed to be a compact, reactive board that feels natural under your feet from the first session. The outline is short and balanced to reduce swing weight and keep the board lively, while the rocker and bottom shape give it a clean release for quick take-offs and smooth touchdowns. We added a wider tail for stability, block rails for better recovery, and a concave deck so you can feel the foil with more precision. It’s a shape that works for everything: freeride, freestyle, and waves”.

Behind the Shape

Led by shaper Lutz Graichen, VAYU is combining craft, performance, and construction precision to kick-start a new era of VAYU boards.

F.A.Q.

For whom is the FLY made?

The Fly is made for riders who want an easy, stable board that supports fast progression from the first sessions to learning more advanced moves. Its shape makes take-offs simple, offers strong stability, and rebounds quickly after jumps.

It’s ideal for:

  • Beginners and progressing riders (larger sizes 110–145L)
  • Freeriders looking for a balanced all-conditions board
  • Riders learning jibes, tacks, and first jumps
  • Freestylers who want a compact, responsive feel
  • Schools and centers needing a durable, confidence-boosting board

The Fly’s outline and box concept cover all skill levels, letting you progress without changing models. A true allround board to help you grow in the sport.

What makes the FLY MIDLENGTH different from the FLY CARBON?

Both boards deliver high performance, but they are designed for different styles:

Fly Midlength

  • Earlier lift
  • More glide
  • Better for light wind
  • More stable in chop
  • Excellent for swell riding and small downwind runs
  • Pairs beautifully with PARAWING.

Fly & Fly Carbon

  • Shorter, more agile
  • Better for jumps, rotations, and freestyle
  • Quicker transitions
  • Extremely reactive underfoot

If you want earlier lift and more range → choose the Midlength.

If you want a playful, compact board → choose the Fly Carbon.

FLY or FLY Carbon, which to choose?

Choose the Fly if you want a durable, confidence-boosting board for everyday riding. Its hybrid construction adds impact resistance, making it ideal for beginners, progressing riders, schools, and anyone who wants stability, easy take-offs, and smooth control in all conditions.

Choose the Fly Carbon if you want more performance. The full-carbon construction is lighter and stiffer, giving you sharper response, faster acceleration, and a more reactive feel for carving, jumps, and advanced maneuvers.

How should I care for my FLY?
  • Rinse with fresh water after each session
  • Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or inside a hot car
  • Use a board bag for transport and storage
  • Check foil mount screws regularly but avoid overtightening
  • Repair dings quickly to prevent water entry

With normal care, the full carbon construction stays light, stiff, and high-performance for many seasons.
