Born in Kiel, Germany, VAYU designs performance wings and wingfoiling gear, driven by innovation, precision, and a love for the wind.

VAYU was born in Kiel, Germany, a city defined by wind, water, and sails.
From this sailing capital came a vision: to design the most advanced wings in the sport.

It began early 2020 when Philip Horn, a former professional windsurfer, saw something new rising on the horizon. Having witnessed the birth of kitesurfing and stand up paddling, he knew a new sport was taking shape. Wingfoiling was not just a trend. It was freedom in its purest form.

Together with his cousin Sergio Penzo, a creative director with a deep passion for the ocean and brand building, they set out to shape that freedom. They gathered an exceptional team including designer Bill Hansen and partnered with Aqua Dynamics, one of the world’s leading production houses for performance kites, sails, and wings. Their goal was clear: to set their flag in this new sport and help it grow.

From the start, innovation drove everything. The world's first rigid handles. The first exchangeable handle system. The Click Book system and dual skin racing wing, each built to push performance further.

Today, VAYU wings are flown by riders across the world, from Olympic training waters to everyday sessions in local bays. We helped open the first Olympic Pro Center in Marseille, partnered with SailGP Germany, and joined Red Bull’s Wingfoil Lab to explore what comes next for the sport.

Still young but relentlessly driven, VAYU stays true to its founding spark: to push wingfoiling forward and let more people experience the feeling of flying above water.
